Hillside Acres Retreat is truly a world apart. Located in the beautiful hill country region of Texas, just minutes from Austin and San Antonio Texas, in what is the second fastest wine growing area in the United States. The retreat is designed to provide our guests with a safe, comfortable and quiet place to relax and unwind.

We are 35 minutes from the Austin airport, 30 minutes from downtown Austin,, and about 35 minutes from San Antonio. Our closest wineries are Texas Hill country (10 minutes), Solaro (12 minutes), and Bell Springs (10 minutes). All other wineries are within 30 minutes.

Each one, of our six, two-bedroom cabins, has a fully equipped kitchen, down to plates and utensils, so we encourage you to bring your own food, as our cabins are self catering. We provide daily, or per stay, housekeeping service, and on site management for your stay.

From our 40,000-gallon rainwater collection system, to our organic garden and our free-range chickens, we are endeavoring to be good stewards of this property. You will be drinking non-chlorinated water, which has been purified through better purification systems than the bottled water you buy in your local store.

The idea for the retreat was born of a desire of the owners, to utilize their wide travel experiences and gift of hospitality, to support those in ministries. The expectation was that at certain times those guests involved in ministry could use these top shelf facilities, at a very low rate, to come and recharge, while at other times, the facilities could be used for commercial guests, who would be looking for the adventure of coming to the hill country. The owners feel this balance will allow for many to use the property for their own particular need.

The retreat is located in the beautiful Texas hill country, which is home to many of the tourist attractions that Texas is famous for. Whether, you are coming to see Fredericksburg, which is home to a great conclave of German sites and eateries, Wimberly, to swim in the famous "Blue hole", or you just want to visit the many state parks in the area, including one which is the birthplace of Lyndon B. Johnson, our retreat is located in the center of many of the top attractions that people come from all over the world to enjoy.

We are also right in the heart of The Texas wine region. This is the second largest and fastest growing wine region in the U.S.A., boasting over 30 wineries within half an hour of where we are located.  Also, within a few minutes, is the famous Salt lick Barbeque Restaurant, which you don't want to miss.

You can visit Luchenbach Texas, or how about doing the "Cotton Eyed Joe" over at the Albert Texas dance hall. Whether you desire family friendly, or more of a couple's venue, we have it all in the Texas hill country!
